Active Release Technique
Active Release Technique (ART) is a soft tissue, movement-based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, ligaments, fascia, and nerves. ART requires extensive training because practitioners must learn 500 unique moves in order to evaluate and resolve problem areas. Conditions that may be resolved through ART include sports injuries, headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, sciatica, plantar, fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow. These problems often occur due to the overuse of muscles and resulting scar tissue. This technique aims to restore normal movement of muscles and to release any entrapped nerves or blood vessels from scar tissue. The combination of chiropractic adjustments with ART is an effective way to treat and heal many injuries and other preexisting conditions; many patients feel improvement within one to six visits.
